Laughter
My daughter missed several days of school because of Lyme Disease. I love this picture of her. I remember this day so clearly...she had started feeling better and that smile was back. She was laughing again. ❤️ My daughter was lucky, we caught it early on. If you read my post about her earlier, you'll know we tried antibiotics. After not having any success and some awful side effects--we started using tinctures and essential oils. This picture was taken about 2 months after w

The Hardest Thing I've Done as a Parent
Fall of 2016. My son was a Sophomore in high school. He was a good student, played sports, and was full of life. Practically overnight, his grades dropped dramatically, he was depressed, and he had very irrational fears. This was probably the hardest time I’ve ever gone through as a parent. This disease is terrible. Seeing your child struggle with fear and being depressed is something I wish on no one. I don’t know why I didn’t realize he had Lyme disease right away, but I di

Oral Health
It's really important to have a good oral health. Bacteria can live inside the mouth and cause all kinds of issues. When you have Lyme Disease, the spirochetes live in your saliva, so the toothpaste and mouthwash you use is very important. Over 90 percent of toothpaste chemicals can pass through your mouth tissue directly into your bloodstream. Using a natural toothpaste instead of a toothpaste with chemicals is a must. Look at your tube of toothpaste, does it say "Do not swa

Fight For Your Health
After researching Lyme Disease, I started wondering if I had it too. I had many symptoms but blew them off to age, being an athlete all my life, being a mom of 4 active kiddos, and running a business. I was exhausted, I didn't sleep well, I was forgetful, I had word-finding difficulties, I had no desire to do anything, I had pain in my joints, regular headaches, and more. I asked my Primary Care Physician if she would test me for Lyme. I went to her because my daughter’s LLMD

This is Hope!
Through our journey, we have tried everything from antibiotics (before I knew anything about the disease), herbs, tinctures, supplements, minerals, and essential oils. I have been a Wellness Advocate with dōTERRA since March of 2013, so incorporating essential oils and other natural alternatives was something I knew I wanted to do. But what? How? This was all new to my family. We took our daughter to a Lyme Literate doctor, or LLMD, and started treatment right away. My doctor

What is Lyme Disease?
People ask me often, "What is Lyme Disease exactly? I thought I would take the time to dive into that today. According to the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), "Lyme disease is the most common infectious tick-borne disease in the United States. The disease was named after the town of Lyme, Connecticut, where it was first identified back in 1975." Lyme disease is caused by a spirochete (pronounced spiro’keet), a corkscrew-shaped bacterium called

The Day Lyme Changed Our Lives
August 7, 2015 is a day I'll always remember. It was the day we heard the words, "Your daughter has Lyme Disease." We had no idea how life-changing Lyme Disease was. My daughter's knee was swollen and she was in pain. We chalked it up to a soccer injury. After about 2-3 weeks of icing and anti-inflammatory essential oils/supplements with no change, we took her to an Orthopedic center. I’m so grateful for the Physicians Assistant we saw that day. After questions for my daughte

Surviving Lyme Naturally
I'm so passionate about natural healing and helping others with Lyme Disease. My family has gone through very difficult and painful times due to this awful disease. My hope is to help others by sharing what we have done during these difficult times, so you too can live your best life! First and foremost, I can't stress it enough how important it is to find a Lyme Literate professional, whether that be a Functional MD or a Naturopath. After having Lyme affect 3 of my family me
