Oral Health

It's really important to have a good oral health. Bacteria can live inside the mouth and cause all kinds of issues. When you have Lyme Disease, the spirochetes live in your saliva, so the toothpaste and mouthwash you use is very important.

Over 90 percent of toothpaste chemicals can pass through your mouth tissue directly into your bloodstream. Using a natural toothpaste instead of a toothpaste with chemicals is a must. Look at your tube of toothpaste, does it say "Do not swallow," and "in case of accidental ingestion, contact the poison control center."? If it does, it's time to change!

I use On Guard toothpaste on a daily basis and add one drop of Copaiba Essential Oil to it. On Guard toothpaste is an all-natural, flouride-free option. Research has shown that Copaiba essential oil (with all its constituents) may help keep the mouth, teeth, and gums clean and healthy looking. Copaiba also supports the health of the cardiovascular, immune, digestive, nervous, and respiratory system.

Once a week I brush my teeth with baking soda and do a swish with diluted hydrogen peroxide. According to Dr. Mercola: 👉Baking soda has antibacterial activity and has been found to kill some bacteria. 👉Hydrogen peroxide has been used since the 1920's as an antiseptic because it is effective at killing bacteria. An antiseptic is a substance that prevents the growth of disease-causing microorganisms, such as bacteria.

{One quick note about the use of peroxide. Don't drink cola, coffee, or wine or anything that could stain teeth. Teeth are more vulnerable to staining within an hour of using peroxide.}

This is just one way to help stay healthy, but an important one.
